JSON to Excel Converter Online

JSON to Excel Converter

Paste JSON or upload a .json file. Arrays of records and common API response arrays are converted into spreadsheet rows. Nested objects use dot-separated column names.

Ready. Your data is processed in this browser.

How to convert JSON to Excel

Paste a JSON array or an object containing a data array, or choose a JSON file. Select Convert / Process to preview the records, then choose Download file to save an XLSX workbook. The converter flattens nested object properties into readable column names such as customer.name.

Example JSON input

[{"name":"Ayesha","city":"Lahore","order":{"total":1250}},{"name":"Bilal","city":"Karachi","order":{"total":980}}]

What this JSON to XLSX converter supports

The tool is designed for arrays of records and common API response structures. Nested objects are expanded into columns, while array values are kept as JSON text in a cell. Review the preview before downloading, especially when your records contain different fields.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert an API response to Excel?

Yes. Paste the JSON response into the input area. Responses with a data array or results array are supported.

Is my JSON uploaded to a server?

The conversion is performed in your browser. The Excel library is loaded from a public CDN, but your JSON data is not sent to that CDN.

Why did the Excel download not start?

Check your internet connection and allow the browser to load the spreadsheet library. You can also use the JSON to CSV tool as an alternative.

Input formats, spreadsheet columns and practical tips

The converter accepts a JSON array of records, or an object that contains an array named data or results. A single JSON object can also be converted as one record. Nested object properties are expanded into column names using dot notation, such as customer.name or order.total.

Array values inside a record are kept as JSON text in their cell rather than being split into additional spreadsheet rows. When records contain different properties, the converter combines their keys into a shared set of columns and leaves unavailable values blank. The on-page preview shows up to 50 rows; the workbook export includes the converted records.

For the most reliable result, check that your input is valid JSON and that each record represents the same kind of item. The XLSX download depends on the SheetJS library loading from its public CDN, so an offline browser or blocked CDN request can prevent Excel export.
