API Response to Excel Converter

API Response to Excel

Paste a JSON API response. Common data and results arrays are converted to an Excel workbook. Never paste API keys, access tokens or passwords.

Ready. Your data is processed in this browser.

How to export an API response to Excel

Copy the JSON body returned by your API request and paste it into the input area. Choose Convert / Process to preview the records, then download the XLSX workbook. The converter is designed for JSON arrays and common response objects containing data or results arrays.

Example API response

{"status":"success","data":[{"id":1,"user":{"name":"Ayesha"},"total":1250},{"id":2,"user":{"name":"Bilal"},"total":980}]}

What happens to nested API fields?

Nested object properties are flattened into separate spreadsheet columns, such as user.name. Array values are kept as JSON text in one cell. This page converts a response that you paste into the tool; it does not make an authenticated request to a private API endpoint.

Frequently asked questions

Can this tool call my API URL directly?

No. Copy the JSON response body from your API client or browser and paste it into the converter.

Can I use an API response with a data array?

Yes. Arrays at the root, or inside data or results, are supported.

Is my API response uploaded?

The conversion runs in your browser. The spreadsheet library is loaded from a public CDN, but the pasted response data is not sent to it.

Convert a copied API response safely

This page converts the JSON response body that you paste into the input area. It does not send a request to an API URL, authenticate to a service or retrieve private endpoint data automatically. To use it, make the API request in your usual client, copy the JSON response body and paste it here.

Responses containing a top-level array, a data array or a results array can be converted into spreadsheet rows. Nested object fields are flattened into dot-separated column names, while array values remain JSON text in a cell. Review the preview before downloading the workbook.

Never paste passwords, API keys, bearer tokens, session cookies or other credentials into a public web tool. If an API response includes sensitive fields, remove them before conversion and before sharing the resulting spreadsheet.
